The Jamaican Bobsled team became the
most famous in the world after being underdogs at
the 1988 Winter Olympics, but their sled flipping
over, resulting in the squad not winning any medals.
The 1993 movie "Cool Runnings" was made about their
journey and it became a worldwide hit, grossing over
$153,000,000 at the box office. The Jamaican Bobsled
team became so popular they were given paid
endorsements and prominent interviews. The Jamaican
Bobsled team is set to race this weekend at the 2022
Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Britain is the head of the
Commonwealth of which Jamaica is a member. Jamaica
and many other Commonwealth nations often take cues
from Britain on a number of things. However, Britain
just took cues from Jamaica...when the Brits 2022
Winter Olympics Bobsled team flipped over before
crossing the finish line. I don't know whether to
laugh or cry. Since when does Britain take cues from
Jamaica (LOL). We can just call it, the Boris
effect, where every thing that can go wrong does...
