The British Government Seizes Multi-Billion Dollar Chelsea Football Club Belonging To Vladimir Putin Ally Roman Abramovich (Video)

March 10. 2022

This is a follow up to the March 8, 2022 article "Roman Abramovich Puts Chelsea Football Team Up For Sale Due To His Ties To War Criminal Vladimir Putin Who Has Illegally Invaded Ukraine Confirming Previous Claims." Today the British government announced they have frozen the assets of Chelsea FC football club owner, Roman Abramovich, due to his ties to Russian President and war criminal, Vladimir Putin.

Abramovich also owns a £150,000,000 house in Kensington Palace Gardens in London, which is in the vicinity of Kensington Palace. He further owns a 3-story penthouse apartment in Chelsea valued at approximately £25,000,000. He is thought to own other properties as well. His residential property portfolio has a cumulative value of £200,000,000.

Chelsea FC's valuation is £3 billion. The award winning team is subject to the freeze, which restricts how it can do business. Season ticket holders will be able to attend matches. However, under the government's current rules, no new tickets can be sold and all merchandise sales are prohibited as well.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich

The government should permit Chelsea to remain fully operational as before, selling all tickets, merchandise and other associated rights. However, all decisions should go through the court via a government controlled trust, with all revenues placed in escrow held by the British government. This will give the British government the time to decide what they wish to do regarding Chelsea's sale and where the funds will go.

However, don't kneecap the club from properly functioning, as it will damage the team, their financial outlook, valuation and your ability to collect proper taxes. That would mean hundreds of millions in taxes lost in a few years. Think about that. Protect the Premier League and all its teams, which I have stated before on this site. It is a part of British identity and loved worldwide.

Chelsea FC existed before Abramovich and Putin, and should exist after them as well. Chelsea is a popular English club (but not more popular than my Arsenal FC, you peasants LOL ;). The Premier League has been in existence for over 100-years.

Roman Abramovich

In reference to Abramovich, as stated previously on the site, I'm sorry things have turned out this way for him, but he refused to break ties with Putin and that is untenable considering what the madman has done to poor Ukraine in unprovoked acts. Abramovich has made his choice.

It can also be argued that Chelsea FC and the mansions bought by Abramovich were never truly his property, as he did not earn the money that was used to pay for them. As Abramovich's assets have been acquired through questionable deals in Russia, where a handful of oligarchs unlawfully pilfered and profited from the national property of the Russian taxpayers (oil, gas, steel, minerals), it can be construe as theft. Stolen wealth is never your wealth to begin with and that goes for who do this. You are paupers illegally in possession of the wealth of others, which is a crime. It's the equivalent of robbing a bank and calling it your hard earned wealth, when it is not and never will be. It works for a while then all comes crashing down in terrible consequences and lasting shame.

The British government now has to decide where the proceeds from the sale of Chelsea FC and said mansions must go. In order for it to go back to the Russian taxpayers, it would have to go through Putin, who will just steal it all over again. So that option is out. As Putin now owes a debt for bombing and destroying so many lives and structures in the beautiful country of Ukraine, in what is an illegal war, the proceeds from the sale of Chelsea FC can go to the Ukrainians, as many people have requested on Twitter.

Thursday 10 March 2022, 9:18pm - The World and European champions have been thrown into the unknown with the sanctioning of their owner Roman Abramovich. But with his UK assets now frozen, day-to-day what does that actually mean for Chelsea FC and its fans?

The club has been given a licence so it can continue paying players and staff and fulfill its fixture list but there is much they can’t do, given all commercial operations must now stop. Who will buy Chelsea after Roman Abramovich put the London club up for sale?

That means no new ticket sales for example and all merchandising outlets must be closed. With Abramovich unable to inject any more of his cash into Chelsea, the club is holding an emergency board meeting this morning to discuss the potentially catastrophic ramifications...
