What Was Shia Doing With Grenier's Girlfriend

I just realized, what was Shia LaBeouf doing with actor Adrian Grenier's girlfriend, Isabel Lucas, at 2AM in the morning, in that accident. As Ricky Ricardo would say Shia, "you got some esplainin' to do."

MSNBC is reporting LaBeouf's injury will cost the "Transformers 2" sequel millions of dollars, due to the one month delay for Shia to recuperate from hand surgery. Um, can't he just wear gloves in the movie or something (kidding).

Another thing about the accident I don't get is why Shia's truck didn't just transform into a robot like in the movie and avoid hitting the other vehicle? These are the scientific questions we will never know the answers to.
