U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters held a press conference today voicing her displeasure at the poor manner in which Haitian migrants are being treated at the U.S. border in Texas. Disturbing and upsetting images emerged this week of Haitian migrants being horsewhipped by U.S. border patrol agents. Waters stated, "I'm pissed! I'm unhappy! And I'm not just unhappy with the cowboys who were running down Haitians and using their reigns to whip them." Waters blamed Trump's policies enacted during his time in office, which permitted the U.S. government to return migrants to their nations without appeals.

The issue came to a head when at the beginning of the year Biden stated America's borders are open, as he was trying to contradict Trump at all costs. This created a surge of migrants, a few hundred thousand poor people seeking a better life. Biden wouldn't even address what he had done. He sent Vice President, Kamala Harris, to tell migrants do not come to the United States illegal.
