LA Reid's Hitco Music Label Continues To Financially Struggle With Flopped Songs And Claims Of Sexual Harassment Lingering

In the 1990s, LaFace Records, founded by music producers LA& Babyface (Antonio "L.A." Reid and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds) ruled urban music. Babyface wrote many of the hit songs on the label (along with Dallas Austin, among others) and Reid's then wife, Pebbles, discovered and created images for several recording artists that were signed to the record company. L.A. Reid handled the day to day operations of the label that was located in Atlanta.

LaFace was a huge hit, selling hundreds of millions of records worldwide. Based on what was said in the music industry, L.A. & Babyface parted on bad terms, due to financial impropriety by Reid. Years later Reid slammed Babyface in his autobiography as growing tired of Atlanta and its "cheap" houses. Even if the man said that, why did you publish it in a book, especially considering how the City of Atlanta welcomed your family and label.

Problems also occurred in his marriage, leading to Reid and Pebbles divorcing, due to his cheating (and he's still cheating on his second wife, Erica). Success went to Reid's head and he began mistreating people in his professional and private life. Reid took too much credit and for so many things he simply should not have, as others contributions were greater than his own.

In 2018, Reid launched Hitco Music after being fired from Sony Music for embezzlement and sexual harassment. Reid's misconduct resulted in Sony Music being sued for millions of dollars after it was discovered he had been sexually harassing his assistant, but the company's management repeatedly ignored her complaints. Reid kept touching his assistant, and demanding she lay with him in bed and hug him, in incidents that occurred during business trips.

The New York Post reported Reid is thought to have quietly settled other sexual harassment claims. The New York Post also reported Reid had hired a "high priced escort" for an employees birthday. The former employee stated "LA gave me a key and sent me upstairs." This type of crude behavior, treating women like property, is very common in Hollywood.

Rapper Joe Budden also stated Reid would sexually harass interns at Def Jam. Budden stated Reid would call 18-year-old interns in his office and demand oral sex. Tionne Watkins of the music group, TLC, who was signed to Reid's former label LaFace, stated she was privy to incidents of Reid's sexually inappropriate behavior. Reid is not faithful and he emotionally damaged many women with his promiscuity.

Seeking to re-brand himself in the industry that has been shunning him under the "Me Too" movement, Reid launched Hitco, but there is a problem. Hitco is lacking the main thing in its name, Hits. It's been 4-years of mediocrity. People in the industry thought Hitco would be LaFace part two. However, the company has not registered any hits. It took LaFace less than 2-years to register its first hits.

Hitco is not doing well because Reid does not have Babyface and Pebbles in the picture, as he did at LaFace. The struggles of Hitco proves Babyface and Pebbles played a massive part in Reid's success, as they were the ears and eyes of LaFace. Reid contributed as well, but to hear him tell it in interviews and print, he single-handedly made LaFace the hit it became, when he had a significant amount of help from Babyface and Pebbles.

Case in point regarding Hitco flopping, Reid signed Jennifer Lopez, and Dinah Jane of the music group Fifth Harmony, yet still no hits on the label. Reid has signed a host of young female artists and none have become stars. None of them have hits. The label is spending millions and nothing has been working. Reid has already dropped some of the first artists he signed to Hitco. They came and went and no one really noticed.

There are also claims Reid is still sexually pursuing employees which is what got him in trouble in the first place. Reid has made advances towards Rubi Rose and Bonfyre, among others. Reid was accused of sexually assaulting singer, Zara Larsson, who was very upset, as she stated he kept groping her under the dinner table at a restaurant, while claiming he will make her famous. None of these women want him. They just want a career. Reid clearly has learned nothing from the fall of Harvey Weinstein.

Before Reid was brought down in civil court in 2017, due to his chronic sexual misconduct, he thought he was invincible and badmouthed a lot of people, who had helped him in the industry. He also betrayed many people who helped him in his career.

Reid pretends to be so woke and a supporter of Black Lives Matter. Yet he runs out and signs influencer, Dixie D'AMelio, to a record deal, despite the fact she can't really sing and is a little slavetrader like her sister, Charli, who rips off young, black content creators on Tik Tok, in acts of copyright infringement (Jimmy Fallon Inviting Tik Tok User Addison Rae On His Show To Perform The Works Of Black Content Creators Causes Massive Backlash Similar To That Of The Charli D'Amelio Incident (Video)).

Dixie and Charli D'Amelio have made a career out of stealing the original videos/dances of young black influencers on social networking, then monetizing it like slavetraders. I don't state that because they are white, as there are many original white recording artists I support and by their ORIGINAL works and concert tickets.

However, the D'Amelio sisters rip-off the creative works and labor of young black girls, who started their Tik Tok and YouTube channels in trying to support themselves and get signed to deals, as mentioned in the aforementioned article link. They put a lot of work into their videos, only for them to constantly be ripped-off by lazy, no talent thieves. That's disgusting and the racist exploitation of black people.

Yet here is L.A. Reid like an Uncle Tom signing and supporting this grotesque lack of creativity and theft, D'Amelio, who is taking food off young black girls' tables and right out of their mouths. I don't know who is the worse hypocrite, Reid or his former co-worker, Jay Z, going around screaming Black Lives Matter and black power, yet Jay Z secretly has a white mistress. There's nothing wrong with interracial relationships, but there's a lot wrong with pretending to be woke and militant, and worst of all, cheating on your spouse.
