L.A. Reid's Hitco Record Label Continues To Flounder Causing Him To Seek Out Established Recording Acts Who Are Risking Their Careers

August 15. 2019

Antonio "L.A." Reid's Hitco Entertainment continues to fail, despite the fact he raised $75,000,000 in investment capital to fund the company. None of the 25 recording artists he has signed have become stars and their songs have all flopped. There is not one hit in the bunch. None of them have taken off.

Reid even signed Dianah Jane of Fifth Harmony and her solo career has completely bombed. Reid tried to make her the new Mariah Carey, but it failed. Fifth Harmony fans on social networking are enraged with Reid over the failure of Dianah Jane's solo career. They blame him for ruining her career.

Reid was hoping to replicate the success of the LaFace label, which he founded with former partner, singer/songwriter/producer, Babyface. However, it has not happened. Hitco lacks hits and for a label to be successful, it needs hit music. Hitco are throwing money down the drain at this point. It's a huge waste of money.

Another problem is Reid is a man, who is being shunned in the industry over a sex scandal (Antonio 'LA' Reid Forced Out At Epic Records And Sony Music For Sexual Harassment And Financial Embezzlement and Joe Budden Calls Antonio L.A. Reid A Sexual Predator Who Repeatedly Asked 18-Year-Olds At Record Company For Sexual Favors).

In a desperate attempt at keeping the label afloat, Reid has convinced singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, whom he previously worked with at Sony, to sign with him. Lopez's music career in terms of having hit albums and singles, has been in decline for years. However, she sells a significant amount of concert tickets.

Reid is clearly using Lopez to attract other names to the label. However, it stands to reason, if you've raised $75,000,000 for a label and could not produce even one hit in 2-years, there are significant problems at said company, which make you a liability to any artist that signs on.
