Beyonce's Questionable Grammy Nomination

December 4. 2008

Sasha Flop

This week Sony Music artist Beyonce was basically shut out of the forthcoming 2009 Grammy Awards, save for one nomination, which is questionable in itself.

She has been nominated in the category of "Best Female R&B Vocal Performance" for the song "Me, Myself and I" which was apart of a 2008 live CD. What's dubious about the nomination is "Me, Myself and I" was originally released in 2003 as a single with 24 remixes according to Wikipedia.

"Me, Myself and I" originally released to all outlets on October 21, 2003

To give a nomination to a live recording of an old song, just so an overly competitive, song stealing, spoilt brat won't throw a tantrum at being left off the list, hurts the integrity of the award.

It's the same story with her recent "I Am Sasha Fierce" rip off CD that suffered a sales decline from her previous album "B'Day." Due to the fact that it is a double CD, it will be counted as two units sold, when in actuality it is only one unit sold. That's called cheating.

Charted on 5 billboard charts in 2004
