Attorney Mark Heller is claiming the 29-year-old woman who accused a drunk 51-year-old Cuba Gooding Jr of groping her breast and thigh at a night club in New York has a "troubled mentality." Heller is using unnamed blog posts on the internet to make this assertion. He is calling her crazy and implying she made the whole thing up because she was rejected by Gooding and his girlfriend.

However, police subpoenaed videotape from the night club showing Cuba groped the woman. I saw a clip of the video online and it does appear that Gooding groped the woman, who filed the complaint with police. Not to mention, he was also accused of doing this very same thing to another woman in 2008.

Heller is attempting to get the case against Gooding dismissed, but the facts regarding the charges need to be heard. Sweeping it under the rug is not in the public interest or that of justice. Gooding's career has already taken a hit due to the case and people on social networking are using him as a meme and not in a good way. At this point the damage is done. He needs to get sober and be responsible for his actions at all times.

Hollywood stars and executives are notorious for sexually assaulting people. Harvey Weinstein, Brett Ratner, Russell Simmons, R Kelly, Kevin Spacey, Bryan Singer and Gary Goddard, among others, are proof of this fact. Let's not pretend a celebrity would never do such a thing. This is right up Hollywood's alley.

NEW YORK (AP) — Cuba Gooding Jr.'s lawyer is urging a judge to dismiss the forcible touching case that landed the actor in handcuffs two weeks ago, arguing that witnesses and security video contradict a woman's allegations that he groped her at a New York City night spot.

Lawyer Mark Heller is also taking aim at the 29-year-old accuser's credibility, filling court papers filed ahead of a Wednesday hearing with quotes from what he said are blog posts that portray a woman with a "troubled mentality," the lawyer said. The Manhattan District Attorney's office declined comment.
