Disgraced Hollywood actor, Jussie Smollet,
is officially off the Fox television show “Empire.” The show
was cancelled in the wake of the hate crime hoax he staged
in Chicago, implicating white MAGA supporters of President
Donald Trump, in a fraudulent racist and homophobic crime
that never happened.
The scandal grew so great, Fox cut ties with the
show, announcing next season will be the end of the program. This
week rumors floated that Smollett was returning to the show for the
final season. However, producer Lee Daniels quickly shot that down.
On Tuesday, Daniels stated on social networking, “This is not
factual. Jussie will NOT be returning to Empire.”

In the meantime, Smollett has been keeping a
very low profile. His former castmates and crew workers from
“Empire” are angry with him over the scandal that caused Fox
to pull the plug on the show. Smollett’s agent is also
having difficulty finding him work with the type of
visibility he is used to experiencing.
Smollett is also facing lawsuits in the fallout from
the incident. Smollett has been sued by the City of Chicago for
$130,000. His attorneys have also been sued by the Osundairio
brothers, who helped him stage the attack, in a legal action that
implicates him as well. Smollett has made such a mess that has
damaged so many people.

co-creator Lee Daniels has confirmed embattled star Jussie
Smollett’s fate on the musical drama. Daniels declared on Tuesday
that the actor, who is accused of staging a hate crime against
himself, will not be returning for the sixth and final season of the
Fox series.
The showrunner tweeted the news in response to a
Variety report that “Empire” writers were preparing for Smollett’s
return on Season 6. The story cited multiple production sources.
“This is not factual. Jussie will NOT be returning to Empire. -LD,”
Daniels wrote. Representatives for Fox did not immediately respond
to The Times’ request for comment Wednesday morning.
