Meghan Markle Wedding Dress Is A Rip Off Of Another Royal's Gown

May 22. 2018

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Princess Angela of Lichtenstein

Reports indicate the dress Meghan Markle wore to her wedding to Britain's Prince Harry is a rip-off of another gown. It is almost identical to the wedding dress worn in 2000 by Princess Angela of Lichtenstein, who is the first black woman to marry into European royalty. Angela married Prince Maximilian of Liechtenstein. The dress, veil and tiara are strikingly similar. This is not the first time this has occurred. Previously, Kate Middleton's two bridal gowns were the subject of copyright infringement claims. One of those claims has resulted in a copyright infringement lawsuit being filed by British designer Sarah Burton.

Markle's dress could have been a bit more form fitting. However, I suspect it was, but the trend of brides dieting before their big day, caused Markle to lose more weight. Markle used to weight at least 15-pounds more during her days as an actress. However, like Kate Middleton, who married Prince William, and prior to that, Princess Diana, who married Prince Charles, she lost a noticeable amount of weight.

Princess Diana

Princess Diana suffered from bulimia, which she later spoke about at great length in interviews, prior to her tragic and suspicious death in a car accident. Middleton is clearly anorexic, which is a development that occurred during her engagement. Markle appears to be walking down that road as well and is almost stick thin. Being in the spotlight as a royal and fashion-plate is causing some to forgo the plate. However, health not fashion, is what is most important.

Over 30 million Americans tuned in across the pond, attracting a larger American television audience than Harry’s parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding in 1981.

Meghan’s “something borrowed” was her wedding dress, which was very similar to, if not an exact match, of the gown worn by Princess Angela of Liechtenstein (née Angela Gisela Brown), who holds the distinction as the first black commoner to marry into European royalty in 2000...
